In September I had a wonderful opportunity to photograph the Peachy Keen fall fashion show carnival for the current issue of Cary Living Magazine. It was such a fantastic event and I am so happy I got to be a part of it. I had so much fun and met so many kind hearted and passionate people. The fall carnival was a spectacular night of fun, fashion, and fundraising!

Peachy Keen is a contemporary fashion and lifestyle boutique in Cary, NC where old world charm meets new world beauty. They carry clothes, accessories, footwear, gifts, and more! I love this shop and I highly recommend it if you are looking for something unique.

A lot of heart, soul, and dedication went in to making this a very special event. The purpose was not only to showcase Peachy Keen Boutique's chic fall styles but it was also to raise money for Headbands of Hope for Duke Children's Hospital Headbands of Hope is a wonderful cause founded in 2012 by Jess Ekstrom. Seriously this girl is just so inspiring! The mission of HOH: For every headband sold, a headband is given to a child with cancer. You can order them online or purchase them at the Peachy Keen boutique in Cary.

A fun braid bar was set up and Salon Saia did a fantastic job making the guests look glamorous before the fashion show started.

Ladies purchased headbands of their choice as a donation to help support HOH and Salon Saia styled their hair with the headband any way they wanted. I absolutely loved this part of the carnival. It was so fun and glamorous and what girl doesn't like to get their hair done by salon professionals, right? So chic!

Headbands of Hope has donated to every children's hospital in the United States. I particularly LOVE the sparkle ones as they are so vibrant and beautiful. A perfect addition to any fancy holiday outfit.

Erica Delong (middle), from Bob & the Showgram mornings on G105, was there too. I loved meeting her as I listen to the show everyday. She took a selfie with me too which was really cool! Here she is pictured with one of the boutique owners (left) and Jess Ekstrom (right).

This was Peachy Keen's 11th fashion show. Music played and guests sipped on delicious cocktails while they watched the models strut their stuff on the catwalk.

Each model wore a different headband with each outfit change which allowed you to get an idea of the various Fall looks that are currently available in the boutique and how they can be styled with the headbands.

The creative director and buyer, Karly, did an awesome job putting this show together. I had a blast photographing this event for Cary Living!

Last month Matt and I traveled to the North Carolina mountains for fall color. We had so much fun. The color was vibrant and the weather was crisp and dry. The trees put on quite a colorful fall show for us.

The blue ridge mountains in North Carolina are iconic and are known for being one of the best places to see fall color in the entire world. That makes me even more proud to be born and raised a tar heel girl. I love this state and the older I get the more I love it. There is so much to see and do here and Matt and I are making it our mission to get out, travel, and photograph our adventures.

This photo is of Linville Falls (also known as Linville Gorge) and is truly one of my favorite shots from the entire trip. It is one of the most photographed waterfalls in North Carolina. It really represents the beauty you can see when you travel to the mountains for fall color. It's right off the Blue Ridge Parkway near Milepost 316.4. You can hike to five different viewpoints on two easy trails that leave the main parking lot. Beautiful!

Mr. Truck absolutely loves going to the mountains too. His favorite part is the car ride, hands down. Just say, "Wanna go for a ride?" and he is out the door. When we are there he loves to explore off the leash and play with his toys in the grass. He is the sweetest most loving bulldog ever.

Roan Mountain, Tennessee is one of our favorite places to hike. It's right on the border of NC and TN. It offers bald top mountain hiking and amazing scenic views. In June pink flowers called Rhododendrons, scatter the hills on top of the balds and are so beautiful.

A sweet little bridge on our way up to Rough Ridge. This is another easy hike right off of the blue ridge parkway and has amazing views!

A gorgeous view from on top of Roan Mountain, Tennessee (Jane Bald) at sunset.

Tennessee apples are delicious! This was an apple tree right outside of our cabin. Beautiful!

Anytime we go to the mountains we always have to stop at Price Lake. It's an easy pit stop on the blue ridge parkway and always delivers a beautiful scene no matter the time of year. This particular fall day the trees were saturated with gorgeous color and a sweet couple on an afternoon canoe ride really made this picture perfect.

I love bringing our own food with us when we go to the mountains. Juicy pork chops on top of the grill with my favorite red wine makes for the perfect post hiking meal.

In past years, we were a little early for fall color. Sometimes it can be hard to predict when peak color will happen so this year we planned two different trips so that we could ensure we would be up there when the color was most abundant. Middle of October is usually the best time to go to the mountains to see great color.

Matt got a new graduated neutral density filter right before our trip so he got a lot of practice with it on the mountain tops. It is great for landscape photography because it helps darken parts of the image.

On our way home Hurricane Matthew was making its way into the NC coast. The clouds were so heavy and thick that it put on the most amazing light show Matt and I have ever witnessed. The sun rays were stunning. A truly beautiful North Carolina mountain scene.
