Yay! I have landed my first magazine cover with Cary Living Magazine. I am truly over the moon because I have worked so hard this past year and this is just very validating and motivating for me. It's incredibly rewarding and it makes my soul so happy. I think the photo looks great!
I really had no clue they would choose my photo. Matt called me when he found out and even saw the proof before I did. But I had no clue what he was going to say. It was so funny. I did not think they would choose the photo they did. I really thought it was going to be a different one but I really like the way it turned out.
Getting cover is always something in the back of my mind as we close out each issue but you never really know what the writers and graphic designers will choose as their cover image. But when I am in photo mode at each shoot, I always do some vertical shots with extra space at the top and bottom, just in case. You have to think about those things as a photographer especially when working for any type of business or magazine. You must anticipate needs.
Anyway, I wanted to share all of my favorite images from Bond Brothers Beer Company which is where I took the cover photo. The shoot was a lot of fun and I feel like I did a great job capturing the look and feel of the brewery.
Their glassware is the absolute best. How adorable with these little North Carolina logos?! LOVE!
I cannot tell you how many times I had to stir these puppies, with a pen, so that there would be foam for the photo. Literally like 20 times. It was exhausting but totally worth it. #photographysecrets
Thanks for reading and following my work!
