Acai bowls are one of life's little treats. They are so delicious and so healthy! I just love them all year round. Add your favorite toppings and you will be in heaven!
The acai berry is a superfood which means it is excellent for your skin and overall health because it contains powerful antioxidants and omega fatty acids! #beautyberry
You can get acai by either purchasing frozen acai puree packets in the freezer section of the grocery store (see my recipe here) OR you can buy acai powder, which is what I'm using today for this recipe + video!
I wanted to give you another recipe option plus make a video for my channel on acai bowls so it worked out great. But, either one will make a delicious acai bowl.
I swear by Navitas Organics. I have tried so many of their products and just loooove them especially their acai powder. They are such a great healthy food company! Look for it in the vitamin/supplement section of your local grocery store.
My secret to making this smoothie bowl is using lots of frozen fruit. I have found through trial and error is that using frozen mango really helps make it creamy and thick and gives the best consistency each time. So, don't skip that step! :)
Healthy Acai Smoothie Bowl using Navitas Acai Powder Recipe
1 frozen banana
3/4 cup frozen mango
1/4 frozen blueberries
2 Tablespoons acai powder
Toppings: strawberries, granola, blueberries, coconut shavings, mint (add whatever you like!)
In a powerful blender, blend the frozen fruit and acai powder until thick and creamy.
Add a splash of non-dairy milk to help thin it out a bit and continue blending until well mixed.
Pour smoothie mix into a bowl and flatten it out with the back of a spoon so it's an even surface.
Add your toppings of choice and enjoy away!
