Energizing Matcha Latte - Vegan
Matcha tea is 100% green ancient tea leaf powder with a myriad of health benefits. The combination of the natural caffeine and I-theanine (an amino acid found mostly in green and black tea and some mushrooms) boosts energy without the nervous jitters and anxiety that often come with drinking coffee. It's a healthy way to start the morning!

I like to enjoy matcha tea (1-2 tsp) with a cup of hot water or as a mid-morning latte - see recipe below! Either way matcha tea powder can be used in a variety of ways and is a great healthy staple to have on hand in your cupboard.
Energizing Matcha Latte Recipe | Vegan
(makes 1 serving)
1 cup unsweetened cashew milk
2 tsp pure maple syrup
1/2 tsp vanilla
pinch of cinnamon
1 & 1/2 tsp matcha tea powder
1/4 cup boiling water
1. In a small saucepan, heat the cashew milk over medium heat for about 3-5 minutes. Stir in the maple syrup vanilla, and pinch of cinnamon.
2. Add the matcha powder to a large mug and whisk in the boiling water to make a green paste.
For a frothy texture, place the milk in a blender and blend for 10 seconds on high or froth the milk by hand using a whisk.
3. Pour the milk into the mug with the matcha tea paste, adding any foam to the direct top. Sip away!
